On June 1, 2021 @ approximately 10:30pm I was picked up by my uber driver: Mahmod, Uber pro gold from Ottawa. The Driver then failed to find the best and most efficient route, instead taking a longer route without my consent.
While this was happening Mahmod was on the phone either texting or talking on the phone and he has camera footage to prove it, on the assumption that the camera was recording at the time. Mahmod only ends his phone call when he realizes that the route he decided to take was closed, realizing his mistake he hangs up the phone to ask me for directions. Proceeding to text while driving and getting directions from me, therefore failing to comply with Ubers safety regulations and guidelines. Once the ride was over and i was dropped off (20 min behind schedule), I decided to follow up my rating with a complaint.
I wrote pretty much the same thing i am writing here and i have pictures to prove it. Your uber agent not only failed to address my complaint but also threatened me with the deactivation of my account because of a claim that the driver has made. He accused me of discussing illegal activities when i have done no such thing and there is camera footage to prove it. Based on the claim that the driver has made against me, the fact that this driver was listening in on a conversation i had on my phone is not only disturbing but shows that the driver was completely distracted from his main task which was driving, and ensuring the safety of his client.
Not only that but i have been profiled when I had done no such thing and there is camera footage to prove it. The uber agents name from what i could gather is Lovelesh and not only was his help unprofessional but i am also extremely offended.
I have been with Uber since 2015, all of my rides have been rated 5 stars and I have done nothing but make this company money and remained a loyal customer. If you do not take my complaint seriously, then i will be forced to pursue legal actions against this company, It's driver and it's customer support agent as this is not only unacceptable but a serious case of profiling.
User's recommendation: Don't get in if your driver is from out of town.

Preferred solution: I would like the driver fired or some similar course of action and compensation because i was ready to be charged unfairly, but to be profiled is completely unacceptable. .
Uber Pros: Easy service.
Uber Cons: Some drivers are imcompitent and unprofessional.
