Stranded SIX times!

When most people complain about a company they give the company one strike and that's it. That is absolutely not the case here. About six days ago I had to take my car into the shop to be repaired and I decided that the better option would be to use Uber service for everywhere I had to go rather than getting a rental car. I purchased $75 in Uber gift cards (because of course they won't accept my American Express or any of my debit cards) and decided that I was going to take my first ride later that afternoon. Immediately it would not accept my gift card. It stated that I somehow had a past due balance of $1 from her previous ride. This $1 balance prohibited me from getting to my certification course and I was 45 minutes late. In order to get there I had to have a friend request me a lyft, mind you this is after buying $75 worth of credits for Uber. So I get to my certification class and I get it done and over with. I'm certified and I go to request my Uber ride home cuz I know they fixed it while I was in my 7 hour class. Nope. stranded again and unable to request a ride with credits on my account. I had to call a cab and pay a cab all the way home just to get home and for Uber to say that I needed to restart my account and that they needed to be the ones to personally apply the $1 credit. I try not to get too upset and because I had $75 worth of credit anyways I was going to stay with s Uber and ride it out. Same day! I get stranded at Petco, same issue, same fake We Care Uber response. Let's fast forward to the next day. I'm riding all day long in my Uber and using my credits. not only did they change the fair on three different rides and take way more credit than necessary, but I was stranded at daycare with my children because the Uber driver went to the wrong place. According to him this happens all the time and he can be to me in 20 minutes or I can cancel the ride. 40 minutes later I get down the road with my children (about 6 minutes away) and have more errands to run. But again, my account is locked out I'm unable to use my credits and there's nothing Uber can do. finally after being stranded for the fifth time the representative says we're so sorry for the inconvenience will offer you a $10 credit and marks the issue as resolved without even making sure that was something that was good for me. Trying to be in good spirits I rated it a semi happy face and just let go of the chat completely. Now fast-forward to today. I have to go to the store to pay my electricity bill. The ride is $5, my remaining credit is $12. Unable to request a ride. I've been talking to customer service for more than 5 hours now and they are giving standard quotes about their privacy policy not issuing any help or resolution. And to top it off he says $10 of the credit that you're attempting to use is Uber credit not gift card you're unable to use Uber credit to request a ride. I felt like every ounce of Jesus was going to come up out of my soul in that moment and I was going to lose my mind. Instead, I will just warn you all. NEVER USE UBER!!!!

Uber is a scam

I signed up they would accept none of my cards so I bought a 25$ gift card then put it on my account soon as I try to ride my account is locked, their first excuse was saying I'm using a VoIP number which I'm not I had to show them a screenshot of my setting with my...

Insurance Policy

I enjoy uber when I 1st started with them, only been with this company for two months. I had an accident while transporting an uber driver and they are refusing to pay for the damage to my car because the damage to my car is not over their $1,000 damage policy. My insurance will not cover it because I was working for uber. Which mean I have to pay out of pocket. The most concerning thing I learned through this is Uber takes no responsibility for their drivers. The comment to me was "they're not technically employees, they just use our app." That's something everyone should be aware of when using Uber.# READ POLICY

You'd better correct your entire insurance setup if you are using your vehicle for income and dealing with the public.

What if you had clipped Mrs. Haffenhalker in the crosswalk ?

Her medical bills would be about $65,000 in the week before she dies.

Then comes the traffic and likely criminal charges ; jail, bail, lawyer, hearings, fines, possible more jail time, probation, court costs, loss of driver's license, reinstatement fees, ongoing high risk insurance, possible local, state, or federal income tax or Social Security violations.

Prepare for lifelong wage garnishments.

PRICE GOUGERS

My first and last experience with Uber I attended the Kid Rock Fish Fry October 7, 2017 in Nashville, TN with 6 other friends and chose to use Uber instead of another service such as Lyft… (BAD MISTAKE) We paid $35 for the trip to the concert and our driver, Matt, was absolutely AWSOME! However, at the end of the show the rates started increasing by the minute. Once we got out of the gate the rates had already climbed to $80 for the same ride we received to get to the show and by the time we could secure a ride the rate increased to $168.00. This is clearly price gouging!

Uber overcharged me

Uber has overcharged me. I confirmed a 20 dollars drive, but, for some reason, I ended up paying 54 dollars. I have sent 3 messages complaining about it, but I have not received any response. Furthermore, neither the app saves the complaints and therefore we cannot prove that we have got in touch with them nor it gives us the amount of time to respond back to our complaints. I am extremely upset! I expect a response and a refund as soon as possible or else I will take legal actions. If the company wants to be taken serious, it has to provide a better customer service, with a phone number. It does not help to have the price down if we are ripped off and can do nothing about it.

From Long Island to NYC only $37 after my $15 off coupon (sign in) from Uber's website!! And with 4 luggages!! Very kind driver (William) who picked me up in 4 minutes and took all my luggage! A Long Island taxi would have cost me $135! GREAT! Thanks William

Unethical pricing

Recently use UBER to and from NY La Guardia Airport from my home in Riverdale, NY. The fare was $17.00 higher on the return trip than going to the airport. When I complained to UBEr, I was told that 'surge pricing" applied to my return trip. Surge pricing is in effect during periods of high demand, high or heavy traffic,or bad weather. None of these conditions applied. In fact, we asked the driver upon pick up if it was particularly busy, and he confirmed clearly, it was not; in fact he said it was extremely LIGHT. There was absolutely no traffic on the trip from the airport to my home. Conversely, on the trip TO the airport three days earlier, when my fare was $17.00 LOWER, the driver said traffic was extremely heavy and she took an alternate route to save time. I firmly belive UBER also uses their "SURGE PRICING" as a means to increase revenue during normally quiet times, forcing customers to pay higher fares in order to make up for fewer rides requested. I find this very disturbing and unethical. Finally, in UBER's response to my complaint, I was told that the fare was displayed before I accepted the ride. And while this is true, I needed a ride home and price gouging is improper and unethical in any situation. I am looking into other ride APPS, and will avoid UBER in the future.

UBER FLAT RATE RIDE PASS SCAM FRAUD UBER IS UNETHICAL

WE BOUGHT 40 RIDE FLATE RATE PACKAGES GOOD FOR 28 DAYS. THE RIDES WERE TO EXPIRE ON MIDNIGHT MAY 6, 2017. At 8pm UBER DELETED ALL THREE OF OUR REMAINING RIDES. THEY LEFT US STRANDED AND DISHONORED THE FLAT RATE PACKAGE. TOWARDS THE LAST WEEK OF THE FLAT RATE PACKAGE THEY CHANGED IT TO A RIDE PASS. BOTTOMLINE UBER OWES US 3 RIDES AS WE PAID FOR 40 RIDES AND ONLY RECEIVED 37 RIDES.

Uber needs its navigation redesigned badly. I agree that it is too dangerous for drivers and passengers alike.

Uber also needs to have an app built in monitoring the speed of their drivers and have the app send feedback back to Uber if the drivers are speeding. It has been a real problem especially with younger make drivers who want to impress the girl passengers for some reason.

I was charged $253

Uber - I was charged $253
On March 24, 2017 I requested a ride a driver accepted the trip, the app showed that i had been picked up and that we were on our trip. The issue with this was I WAS NEVER PICKED UP!!! I then contacted the driver whom did not respond but immediately cancelled the trip. I waited a few minutes requested another ride the same driver accepted and cancelled the ride again. THIS IS STRIKE TWO. But once more i requested a ride and finally was picked up. I check my bank statement and noticed that over $200 had been charged and it was from Uber! I contacted uber several times only to be told that my fares were adjusted to compensate my driver for the services provided. NOT ONLY DID I NOT TAKE THE TRIP BUT THE DRIVER HERSELF CANCELLED THE TRIP. THEY ARE ACTING AS IF I WILL NOT RECEIVE MY MONEY BACK!!! BUT I REFUSE TO LOSE $253.94 FOR A SERVICE THAT WAS NOT PROVIDED! I USE UBER ON A CONSTANT BASIS THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE HAD ANY KIND OF ISSUE WITH UBER!!! BUT THIS ONE MISTAKE IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Uber - Vehicle Driver Review from Fort Worth, Texas

Hello, My name is Keith Valley. I live in Dallas but recently took a trip to San Diego. I requested an Uber after getting off the plane. An Uber matching the description pulled up and opened his door so I got in. A few miles down the road he discovered he had the wrong passenger. Instead of continuing to my destination, he turned around and took me back to the airport. All the while, my actual assigned driver was threatening to leave. When we got back to the airport, in a hurry he handed me my suitcase and I ran to meet my other driver, not realizing my backpack was still in the first car. When I got to my hotel, I realized my backpack was not with me. The driver said "just call Uber and they'll bring it to you." I soon realized Uber does not have a phone number you can call, so I had to try to communicate my issue through messaging on the app. The major problem was, since the first driver was not supposed to pick me up, there is no record of me being in his car. There is also no way for to tell them who he was. I was told they are supposed to take left items to the Uber office. I checked the office 3 different times during my vacation and it was never there. I explained to them the contents of that bag were a computer, medication, ID card, social security card, a checkbook, and other critical items. The people I spoke with showed no concern and said leave us your phone number and we'll call you if it turns up. When I asked if we could try to figure out who the other driver was, the answer was an absolute no. I told them I could say exactly where he was at an exact time and describe him and his vehicle. They still wouldn't do it. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told definitely not, because they would give me the same answer. In the end, they blamed me and basically said it was not their problem. The most concerning thing I learned through this is Uber takes no responsibility for their drivers. The comment to me was "they're not technically employees, they just use our app." That's something everyone should be aware of when using Uber. The San Diego police was just as disinterested when I reported the bag stolen. Hopefully you can get this story out there so people will be sure to use caution when using Uber. Thank you so much!

What you say about no record for the first driver is not true. I drive for Uber so I know how it works.

As soon as the driver starts the trip--he hits the "Start Trip" button on his phone. This app records the start time, location, and destination for the trip. You can have Uber find out who the driver was that picked you up by mistake. The app will shoe the pick-up point, the drop-off point, miles traveled, who the driver and car was, etc.

In most major cities there is something called an Uber Green Light office that is staffed 7 days a week--and you can call them or e-mail them. Contact them and they will be able to provide you with the information you are looking for.
